JOIN THE MICAH MOVEMENT

Dr. Spencer and the Memphis Interfaith Coalition for Action and Hope want to help you in your efforts to lead organized community efforts concerning racial reconciliation, economic equity and criminal justice reform. The organization is hosting a training session  Saturday, March 25, 9a.m.-4 at Lindenwood Christian Church.

PAUL YOUNG, AUTHOR OF THE SHACK WILL VISIT NDCC

New Direction Christian Church will host New York Times best-selling author Paul Young to talk about the release of Christian drama “The Shack,” which is based on the 2009 book written by Mr. Young.

Dr. Spencer and Mr. Young will spend time talking about his book during both worship experiences at the Hickory Hill and Collierville campuses.

Bring your copies of the book to church so Mr. Young can sign it after the worship experience.


NDCC WOMEN’S MINISTRY MEETING

The women’s ministry of New Direction will hold a meeting Tuesday, March 28, 6p.m.-7:30 in the multipurpose room at the Hickory Hill campus.


ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRAINING

LAUNCH will be providing entrepreneurship training at Memphis Center for Urban Theological Studies. Attendees will learn about customer service, marketing, managing finances and networking. The class is March 20-May 22 on Mondays, 6 p.m.-9 p.m. It will cover information for potential business owners, new business owners and veteran business owners. The cost is $100.

NATIONAL CIVIL RIGHTS MUSEUM MLK50 COMMEMORATION

The annual commemoration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at the National Civil Rights Museum is April 4. The event is free and open to the public.

CORE ACADEMY ENRICHED TUTORING SUMMER CAMP

Certified teachers will work with children, ages 5-13, on several subjects in addition to making sure your students have fun this summer!

Children who have special needs are also invited to attend.

LIFE CHANGE COUNSELING CENTER

If you need help in working towards spiritual and emotional health, call Life Change, the counseling center of New Direction Christian Church. A staff trained in Christian counseling, psychological counseling and social work will schedule a confidential appointment with you Monday-Thursday, 11a.m.-8p.m., and every other Saturday, 9a.m.-1p.m. Weekend appointments are subject to availability.
